EAM
Electro-Absorption Modulator made of Indium Phosphide. The EAM provides high-bandwidth, external amplitude modulation for singlemode light-sources. Modulation is based upon the electro-absorption effect in InP-related materials and is intended for use in conjunction with a CW light from an external fixed-wavelength or tunable laser, to create a high-speed, time-varying optical signal. see CyOptics Inc.
